Atlanta, Ga., October 19, 2023: Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is excited to participate in the 2023 Evergreen Hack-A-Way, which will be hosted by Evergreen Indiana in Indianapolis, Indiana from October 23, 2023 through October 25, 2023.

The Evergreen Hack-A-Way is held annually to continue the momentum generated by the Evergreen International Conference. It provides an opportunity for the community to gather to collaborate on upcoming features, bug fixing, and brainstorming. Full details about the 2023 Hack-A-Way, including the schedule, can be found here: https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=hack-a-way:hack-a-way-2023.

“We are excited to be back in Indianapolis with our colleagues from Evergreen Indiana,” said Rogan Hamby, Data and Project Analyst at Equinox and Chair of the Evergreen Outreach Committee. “It’s an opportunity to get together as a community and brainstorm how Evergreen can best meet the needs of libraries and put that into action. What is the future of Evergreen? The Hack-A-Way helps push the project forward and accomplish the goals of the community.”

Equinox was founded by the original developers of Evergreen ILS and is proud to participate in Evergreen’s highly involved community of librarians.

“The Hack-A-Way provides a unique chance to have developers and other community leaders in the same room to ‘hack’ on Evergreen,” said Andrea Buntz Neiman, Project Manager for Software Development. “We’re thrilled to be back in person for Hack-A-Way because it’s often a highly productive event and results in a lot of critical decisions and software updates. There’s a lot of major improvements on the plate for next year, including work on a RESTful API suite, Multi Factor Authentication, and a major update to Evergreen’s internal service OpenSRF. Evergreen’s developers are also Evergreen’s users, and we look forward to what this year’s Hack-A-Way will bring to the software and the community.”
