Atlanta, Ga., February 6, 2025: Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is pleased to announce that Belmont Abbey College has joined the open source community with their adoption of Koha ILS. Equinox provided implementation and training services during the migration to Koha ILS and will continue to provide hosting and technical support.
“The Equinox team has provided unbelievable support throughout our migration to Koha,” said Alexxis Lynn, Director of Library Services at Belmont Abbey College. “Each team member is knowledgeable, organized, responsive, and a true pleasure to work with. We wouldn’t change a thing!”
Belmont Abbey College’s Abbot Vincent Taylor Library houses over 150,000 print materials. This includes their Special Collections which preserves a rare book collection of 13,000 books, manuscripts, photographs and ephemera including incunabula dating back to 1474. The library also provides students with access to over 400,000 ebooks, over 100 databases, and multimedia resources and tools.
“Open source software is a natural fit for academic libraries,” said Rogan Hamby, Data and Project Manager at Equinox. “Koha meets the needs of special, print, and electronic collections which are often combined in college settings. We are excited to welcome the Abbot Vincent Taylor Library at Belmont Abbey College to Koha and look forward to supporting their community.”
