Now Available: Equinox Announces Support for VuFind
Atlanta, Ga., March 8, 2022: Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader providing open source technologies for libraries, now offers service and support for VuFind, an open source discovery system developed and maintained by Villanova University’s Falvey Memorial Library. VuFind welcomes library users with an inviting, user-friendly interface and supports discovery across the entirety of library collections. VuFind’s content integration delivers quick and comprehensive search results, including print and digital collections, archival collections, ebooks, research databases, and more. VuFind was built for libraries by libraries to provide a modern, accessible, open source discovery platform. VuFind is also fully customizable.
VuFind is compatible with any integrated library system, including Koha ILS and Evergreen ILS. Equinox’s support for VuFind is the latest addition to the open source library technologies Equinox provides, from integrated library systems Koha and Evergreen, to CORAL ERM, Fulfillment ILL, and SubjectsPlus research guides.
“Adding VuFind to the open source products that Equinox supports helps increase library capabilities,” said Galen Charlton, Implementation and IT Manager at Equinox. “VuFind is supported by a robust community including its original developers from Villanova University. We are honored to participate in this project both to help enhance it and to serve libraries that use it.”
Charlton will be presenting EquinoxEDU: Spotlight on VuFind Development on March 30, 2022. Registration is free and open to the public: https://bit.ly/equinoxEDUVuFind.
“We are very excited to launch support for VuFind, offering an attractive, efficient, cost-effective discovery system for public, academic, and special libraries,” said Lisa Carlucci, Executive Director. “If you’re ready to transform the search experience for your library community, now is the time to consider VuFind.”
